Queijo Flamengo is one of the most eaten cheeses in Portugal and after one taste there is no surprise as to why.  A delicious every day cheese, Queijo Flamengo has a semi hard consistency and goes great in sandwiches or even on a charcuterie board.  Beginning in 1450, people from Flanders began settling in the Azores.  The Flemish settlers played an important role in the creation of the Azorean culture and this cheese by Taste of Portugal is a testament to that influence.
