2 Spooky-Sweet Treats for Halloween

Halloween isn’t just about costumes and candy, it’s also the perfect excuse to bake something deliciously spooky!
Whether you’re hosting a party or cozying up for a night in, these two easy desserts bring a fun (and tasty) twist to Halloween.

Chocolate Spiderweb Donuts

Fluffy, rich, and topped with a chocolate web that’s almost too pretty to eat.

Ingredients
(makes 6 large donuts - about 9 cm each)
140 g flour
80 g sugar
Pinch of salt
1 egg
60 g plain yogurt
½ tsp vanilla extract

For the topping:
60 g white chocolate

Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a donut pan with butter.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another, whisk together the egg, milk, yogurt, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry mixtures gently until smooth. Fill donut molds about ¾ full.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes, cool for 2 minutes, then remove and let cool completely.
  6. Melt dark chocolate in the microwave (5–10 second bursts, stirring in between).
  7. Melt white chocolate separately. Transfer to a piping bag or small sandwich bag.
  8. Dip donuts into melted dark chocolate. Pipe 3 concentric white circles on top.
  9. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center outward — creating a web pattern.
  10. Let the chocolate set before serving.
Tip: Imperfect webs look even spookier!

Chocolate “Dirt Cups”

A classic Halloween treat with a creamy chocolate base and a fun “worms in dirt” twist. Made the Portuguese way.

Ingredients
For the pudding:
2⅓ cups (580 g) milk or plant-based drink
¼ cup (30 g) cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract

For the decoration:
Chocapic Cereal, crushed into crumbs
Gummy worms

Instructions
  1. Melt the chocolate in 20-second microwave intervals, stirring between each.
  2. In a blender or bowl, combine all pudding ingredients until smooth.
  3. Pour into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until thickened (about 6 minutes).
  4. Pour into small glass cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Before serving, crush Chocapic cereal to resemble “dirt.”
  6. Sprinkle over the pudding and top with gummy worms.
